South Florida Sports League seeks to promote a healthy
life style through programs for all ages, genders, race,
and nationality. But! We apply most of our resource
to the most important people in South Florida the YOUTH
of our community.
SFSL
has enjoyed tremendous growth in the last five years.
From a high school basketball league that began with
24 teams in 2002 to an increase of 36 teams in our spring
and summer league in 2006. This year we began our youth
sports program with over 800 kids registered and participating
in our year round programs that include: flag football,
tackle football, and cheerleading.
Our
adult teams playing 4 on 4 flag football in our year
round program has increased from 9 teams in 2003 to
over 132 teams in 2007.
SFSL will continue to provide the highest quality programs
by adhering to our mission statement:
“Helping
our youth with the biggest game of all, LIFE!”
|
SFSL
provides quality enrichment and recreational programs
to youth, adults, and senior citizen from all walks
of life, no matter the race, religion, or ethnic background.
We provide quality programs for children ages 5 to 14,
teenagers ages 15 to 17, adults ages 18 to 50 and seniors
ages 50 or above. Additionally we give back to our community
through our donations and /or in kind services.
SFSL
Youth Vision: Our vision is for a child's ENJOYMENT
of the game; this is what's important to the children!
When the game ceases to be fun, it ceases to be a game.
We believe in the competition of the game, but without
the undue stress placed on winning. We work very hard
on encouraging participation, teaching fundamentals
and focusing on the spirit of the game. Win or Lose,
SFSL places it's focus on improving the skill levels
of each child. Once that's achieved, our next job is
to incorporate our "seven keys to succeed in Life"
principles:
Trustworthiness,
Respect, Responsibility, Fairness,
Caring, Good Citizenship, Education
The highest potential of sports is achieved
when competition reflects these seven values.
SFSL
Adult Vision: Our vision is to provide the
highest quality recreational programs. SFSL feels success
comes when we incorporate programs that will provide
a healthier way of life for the whole family.
