when picking up your child(ren). The sign in/sign out log
will be dated for each day and maintained with other permanent
records. This policy was adopted to provide the safest environment
for your child(ren).
DISCIPLINE
GUIDELINES
Children need instruction more than they need criticism. Discipline
means training which enables the child to develop self-control
and orderly conduct in relationship to peers and adults. Discipline
shall be clear and understandable to the child, consistent,
and explained to the child before and at the time of any disciplinary
action. Discipline shall include positive guidance, redirection,
and the setting of clear-cut limits, which foster the child’s
own ability to become self-disciplined. Our discipline practices
are designed to encourage the child to be fair, honest, and
caring; to respect property, and to assume personal responsibility
and responsibility for others.
BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS
Children in the program are expected to conduct themselves
in a manner that is
cooperative with the group. Efforts are made by the Musketeer
Summer camp staff to work within the appropriate social developmental
stages for each individual child.
However, a child’s consistent refusal to follow directions
given to them by the counselors creates an atmosphere that
is disruptive to the program and will not be tolerated. If
redirection is not effective and or if a child has a consistent
and or serious disciplinary problem.
The following steps will be taken:
1. When the Camp Counselor determines that there is a problem
and is unable to get the child to respond to verbal redirection,
no more than two behavior reports will be documented and presented
to the parents to review and sign.
2. After two documented behavior
reports, if the child’s behavior continues to be disruptive;
a meeting will be set up with the camp director, child’s counselor,
and the parents. The purpose of this meeting will be to determine
why the child is having difficulty and what efforts might
be made by the site staff, parents and child to find a possible
solution. In some instances, at the director’s discretion,
the child may not be allowed to attend camp until a conference
is held.
3. If the child’s behavior continues
to be disruptive to the program, the Musketeer Summer camp
reserves the right to withdraw the child from the program.
A child may be withdrawn from the program, without prior warning,
for any behavior and/or verbal threats that jeopardize the
safety of themselves and/or other children.
CHILDREN(S)
ATTIRE
Children should come to camp dressed for the day(s) activities
and prepared for
changing weather conditions. Sneaker’s shoes, socks, swimsuits,
towels, sunscreen,
and a hat are among the items needed. Please check the daily
schedule. Please make sure to mark your child(ren) belongings
on an inside surface for identification. Any clothing left
behind will be placed in Lost & Found. In addition, all
children should come with a water bottle to promote hydration
throughout their daily activities.
MEDICATION
If your child will need to take medication while at camp,
please notify the Camp Director. ALL medicine must be given
to the Camp Director and Permission to Administer Medication

drops, decongestants, etc. A refrigerator is available if
medication requires refrigeration. Staff will give medicine
to children at appropriate time, for the children to administer
to themselves. (Staff is not allowed to administer medications).

leave with their parents from the field trip destination.
